Caitlyn Tateishi

Bio

Proudly born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii!

Sport: Marathon Runner. But races distances from the mile to 50 miles.

Caitlyn ran DIII cross country and track at Pacific University after graduating from Waiakea High School in Hilo. She stepped away from running seriously when she taught English in Japan through the JET Program for three years. After Japan she went to Zambia as a Peace Corp volunteer when she started running again for fun."When I first thought about running under 2:45 for the marathon. It seemed too big of a dream. I wasn't sure I could do it but worked hard and believed in my self. I hope the next generation of runners in Hawaii are inspired to follow their big dream and sees where it leads them!"

What do you do when your not training? "I enjoy being outdoors with my husband Steve and dog Polly; at the beach, hiking and camping! I also work full time as a Legal Operations Business Analyst."

I Take BioAstin...

"I like that BioAstin bolsters the immune system. I rarely get sick despite all of the high mileage and intense workouts!"

What's training like for you? "During marathon training I'm running 7 days a week. There is a hill workout, track workout with shorter intervals, a pace workout and a long run every Sunday. I have 3 easy days a week where I also lap swim. I also have a strength coach who helps keep me strong." Favorite workout? "800 meter track repeats!"
