Lectie Altman

Bio

Lectie started swimming when she was 6 years, except for a small break after swimming in college, she's been her whole life. After not doing anything athletic for a short period of time she decided, after grad school, enough was enough and signed up for a marathon. Lectie says, "I was living in Hawaii, sitting around and being lazy. I wanted to get back in shape and reconnected with my old college swim coach and started training for the Honolulu Marathon. He had always been putting the bug in my ear to "tri" a triathlon but I wasn't interested. After the marathon in 2010, I decided, why not?! I'm living in a beautiful place and I have the opportunity to train outside all year long so I signed up for Ironman 70.3 Hawaii (Honu) in 2011, did my first Ironman in Coeur d'Alene and then I found my BOCA triathlon family! "

Lectie went on to become the 2016 Ironman 70.3 amateur champion and overall woman's champion soon after at Ironman Boulder, CO. She then took first in her age group at Ironman Australia in 2017 which qualified her a spot into the Ironman World Championship Triathlon in Kona Hawaii. Lectie has completed Ironman Kona 3 times.
