Bio
I have always had a passion for health and fitness and played many different sports growing up! From football, basketball and baseball to soccer and weight training. But surfing is my first love. I've surfed around the world! California, Costa Rica, Fiji, Australia and of course all over Hawaii. When I moved to Kona from Oahu in 2008 I witnessed the Ironman World Championship Triathlon for the first time and was bitten by the tri bug. I got goosebumps watching all the amazing athletes cross the finish line and hearing their stories. Soon after I began training for and competing in triathlons... and the sport took me across the most famous tri finish line on Ali'i Drive.
I strive to be a good role model for my daughter. To live an active and healthy lifestyle and I hope to inspire as many people as possible along the way as well.
In my leisure time I like to go on adventures with my daughter and her friends around the Big Island. We go to the beach to relax, paddle board or swim. We also enjoy going to the movies, attending local events and bbq'ing at sunset. My favorite foods mainly consist of organic protein, quality carbs, fruit and good fat. Examples would be local grass fed beef, chicken and fish like poke, local sweet potatoes, quinoa, avocados, bananas, blueberries and green salads. Also, I can't go a day without a protein shake with Pure Hawaiian Spirulina and there's always room for pizza and chocolate! My hobbies include taking photos and learning about health and nutrition. I also enjoy reading, relaxing, eating and listening to music.
On a professional level, I help manage the Kona Canoe Club restaurant in Kona Town. I've been in the hospitality industry most of my life and enjoy the challenges it brings.
