Get Outside with Team BioAstin

When it comes to participating in local or international races and whether you are a front of the pack, middle of the pack or you’re a caboose who likes to stop and thank volunteers* or take pictures during the course, BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin should be a part of your nutrition plan. Some of our BioAstin Ambassadors explain how BioAstin helps improve their performance:

Tim Marr, retired pro triathlete, says, “being a top-level athlete is all about repetition and consistency. I take BioAstin to help keep me out there doing what I love day in and day out. In Hawaii, we have the added challenging elements of the sun, heat, and wind which makes recovery the most important aspect to daily training. BioAstin is that secret ingredient for day to day success.”

“I used to be pretty fast” says race announcer Eddie O, “but nowadays I like to simply finish strong and enjoy the camaraderie and sharing ‘war’ stories post-race with like minded people. BioAstin is an important part of my nutrition because it helps me recover faster so when it does come to race day, I can finish strong.**”

Skye Ombac’s weekly training consists of running 30-60 miles a week depending on how she feels and how much time she has. “I enjoy starting my week with a 10 mile run, speed work on Wednesday’s, and a long trail run on Saturday that’s at least 12 miles. I also swim 2-3 times a week before work. I like to get at least 1,000 meters in. I take BioAstin to aid in my recovery and stay healthy!** As a runner and teacher, I need all the help I can get to feel the best I can” says Skye.

Dan Gampon added, “lately I've shifted my focus on my overall health and making it a priority. My biggest goal has been to maintain a 20 mile per week run schedule - which I've found to be the perfect mileage. As for biking, I've been biking 3 days a week with Saturday rides being a bit longer to enjoy our beautiful island home. Recently I added yoga to my training.  This has helped me physically and mentally. It's grounded me. I take BioAstin to support the active lifestyle I live as a triathlete. BioAstin helps my joints and tendons stay healthy and strong mile after mile, and I personally feel like it helps speed up my recovery post-training session.**”

Long distance runner Nicole Lewien who works as a full-time dental hygienist says, “my body takes a lot of pressure on a daily basis. Between working in awkward positions for 8 hours straight and running high mileage in my free time, nutrition and recovery are of upmost importance in my life. BioAstin and Hawaiian Spirulina help make it possible for me to continuously meet my goals and pursue a healthier lifestyle. I’m extra thankful for the surplus of energy, boost in my immune system and aid in recovery! **”

Why has Erik Basden been taking BioAstin for the last 7 years? “Because I believe it provides the best all-around health benefits of any supplement I can take. After turning 50 this year I know the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle, taking BioAstin helps support my lifestyle so I can continue to feel my best. **”

Kristin Old keeps it simple and to the point on why she takes BioAstin. “As an ocean lover and outdoor enthusiast, I take BioAstin to help my body recover from my long outrigger paddles and distance runs so I can get back out there the next day to enjoy beautiful Hawaii. **”

It doesn’t matter if your fast or slow. Even walking for an hour a day 6 days a week has great physical benefits and studies show this can help with sense of well being1. Working in your garden is another great outdoor activity that can boost your mood along with other health benefits2. Team BioAstin’s recommendation? Simply get out and be active!
